For those who know and love Sanibel Island, it comes as no surprise that Southern Living Magazine would include this slice of paradise in their Best Beach Towns in the South.

The March 2021 issue dubs Sanibel as Florida's Hidden Treasure, where visitors come to enjoy the abundant nature, miles of bike paths and collect shells in the seashell capital of the United States.

Southern Living highlighted several popular attractions and businesses including: J.N. Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge, the Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum, Bailey's General Store, Adventures in Paradise, Doc Ford's Rum Bar & Grille, 400 Rabbits, Sweet Melissa's Cafe, Joey's Custard, Billy's Bike Shop, the Sanibel Sea School, Periwinkle Place Shops, Island Style Galleries, Trader Rick's, Gene's Books, the Sundial Beach Resort and Spa, Tween Waters Island Resort and Spa, and the Periwinkle Cottages.
