Sanibel Spooktacular 2026: Pfeifer Realty Group Brings a Nightmare Before Christmas to Periwinkle Way

Sanibel Island is getting spooky this October, and Pfeifer Realty Group is joining the fun! The inaugural Sanibel Spooktacular Halloween Contest & Best in Boo Awards, organized by the SanCap Chamber of Commerce, invites island businesses to transform their storefronts into creative, spooky, silly, and imaginative Halloween displays throughout October.

From October 1 through November 1, 2026, residents and visitors can explore decorated businesses across Sanibel Island, vote for their favorites, and celebrate the creativity and community spirit that make Sanibel such a special place to live, work, and visit.

Pfeifer Realty Group's Nightmare Before Christmas

At Pfeifer Realty Group, the team is excited to participate in this fun-loving, slightly silly celebration that brings island businesses and neighbors together.

This year's decorating theme is The Nightmare Before Christmas, with a distinctly Pfeifer Realty Group twist!

Since opening its doors in 2008, Pfeifer Realty Group has decorated its Periwinkle Way office with Christmas elves during the holiday season. After 18 years of spreading Christmas cheer, those familiar elves are getting a second act.

Rather than retire the decorations until December, the team has repurposed its longtime Christmas elves for a Halloween makeover inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas.

It's a playful combination of Halloween mischief and Christmas nostalgia, with a little island humor thrown in.

For Pfeifer Realty Group, participating isn't simply about winning an award. It's about supporting fellow businesses, giving residents and visitors something to smile about, and strengthening the sense of community that makes Sanibel Island unique.

Sometimes building community means tackling important challenges together. Other times, it means dressing up a few Christmas elves for Halloween and having a good laugh.

What Is the Sanibel Spooktacular Halloween Contest?

The SanCap Chamber of Commerce created the inaugural Sanibel Spooktacular to encourage local businesses to decorate their storefronts and properties while inviting residents and visitors to explore the island.

Participating businesses will be featured on a special Spooktacular map, available through the chamber and at locations throughout Sanibel.

Visitors can follow the map to discover Halloween displays at local shops, restaurants, offices, and other island businesses.

Chamber members are eligible to compete for the Best in Boo Awards, with categories including:

• Spookiest Decorations

• Most Fun Decorations

• Best Storefront

• Best of Show

The event encourages friendly competition while supporting Sanibel's local business community.

Explore Sanibel, Vote for Your Favorites, and Win Prizes

Residents and visitors are encouraged to explore the participating businesses and vote for their favorite Halloween decorations.

Completed voting maps must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2026.

Celebrating the Businesses and People Who Make Sanibel Special

SanCap Chamber President and CEO John Lai described the inaugural event as an opportunity to bring out the island's playful spirit while supporting commerce throughout October.

The Spooktacular is about more than decorations. It encourages people to visit businesses they may not have explored before, connect with neighbors, and celebrate the creativity of Sanibel's business community.

For Pfeifer Realty Group, community participation has been part of the company's identity since opening in 2008. The team believes that supporting local events, businesses, nonprofits, and community traditions is an important part of being a locally owned Sanibel Island real estate brokerage.

The Sanibel Spooktacular is another opportunity to celebrate those connections, this time with a little Halloween magic.

Come See Pfeifer Realty Group's Halloween Elves!

If you're exploring Sanibel Island during October, be sure to stop by Pfeifer Realty Group on Periwinkle Way and see what happens when Christmas elves find themselves in a Halloween nightmare.

Pick up a Spooktacular map, visit other participating businesses, vote for your favorite displays, and join the island-wide celebration.

Whether the elves are spooky, silly, or just a little confused about which holiday they're celebrating, the Pfeifer Realty Group team hopes they'll bring a smile to everyone who visits.

After all, community spirit doesn't have to be serious to be meaningful. Sometimes it just needs a little imagination and a good sense of humor.
