FUN FACT: Frederick J. Wesemeyer was a worldwide marketer of Gladiolus Bulbs and Flowers. Until his death in 1987, Wesemeyer was the controlling partner of A & W Bulb. He was born in Germany and came to America to follow in his father's footsteps as a florist. Coconut Creek was built on the 76 acre Wesemeyer estate in 1990 by Daniel Wayne Homes. Part of the original estate, the Coconut Creek Clubhouse is a state historic landmark. The Dodrill Family of Daniel Waynes Homes has been building communities in the Fort Myers area since 1970 and they are dedicated to the preservation of this historic piece of Fort Myers History.
