Sanibel Island Community Support Campaign

Pfeifer Launches Island Wide Community Support Campaign
December 1, 2007

Eric Pfeifer, a Sanibel realtor and full time island resident has found a sustainable way to give back to the community. Pfeifer’s “Real Estate is…Community Support” initiative is a campaign to contribute funds to local non-profits and community activities with each real estate closing. “I believe that Sanibel is a unique place with a thriving sense of community. When clients buy property here, they see that.” Pfeifer is making a contribution to a local organization of his client’s choice with every closing beginning this week with a donation to The Sanibel Sea School. “We are honored to be chosen as the kick-off recipient of the Pfeifer Community Support Campaign” said Dr. Bruce Neill of Sanibel Sea School. “We look forward to seeing the Community Support Campaign sustain the conservation efforts and community efforts of non-profit organizations here. This is just the sort of community spirit that is hallmark of these islands.” As a year-round Sanibel Island resident, Pfeifer knows that supporting the community is always important, but believes it is particularly vital when the economy slows. “This is a time to be as generous as we can to support one another and I hope this is the spark that starts a fire.” In addition to working full time as a Realtor, Pfeifer organizes youth flag football, is an active board member of Kiwanis, The Schoolhouse Theater, & The Sanibel Congregational Church and says, “there is always time in the day to do something helpful, and I hope my contributions will inspire others to do the same.”

Pfeifer Realty Group Supports SCCF's Bailey Homestead Preservation

In October of 2010, the Sanibel Captiva Conservation Foundation (SCCF)publically announced their unique opportunity to restore and preserve the Bailey Homestead that sits on 28 acres along Periwinkle Way. Preservation of this tract of land offers many benefits to the island's human and non-human inhabitants. These 28 acres will connect City-owned land to the east including Pond Apple Park with conservation land to the west (Roadside City Park, SCCF and Refuge land)k providing a critical wildlife corridor.
The Bailey Homestead is one of only ten houses on the City of Sanibel's Register of Historic Landmarks. Built in 1896 by Frank Bailey, this home was where Sam Bailey was born and later where Francis Bailey raised his children. Once restored, the home will be used to educate visitors on the Bailey Family, and the history of the island. Other rooms in the house will be used to tell about island conservation history and what the many organizations have done to "keep Sanibel Sanibel".

SCCF must reach their goal of $5.3 million dollars by June 30th 2011. While this is a daunting task during challenging economic times, it is a once in a lifetime opportunity to restore history and protect the future of Sanibel Island.

For more information about how you can help in this campaign to Preserve the Past and Protect the Future, contact Erick Lindblad: 239-472-2329 or Cheryl Giattini: 239-395-2768 or visit www.sccf.org

Pfeifer Supports Sanibel Little League

For almost a decade, Eric Pfeifer has donated countless hours of time coaching tee ball, girls minor and major league soft ball as well as boy's minor and major league baseball here on Sanibel Island.

In 2009 Pfeifer took over as "Commissioner" of Sanibel's Little League and can be found on the fields often throughout the Spring season.

For more information about Sanibel Youth Sports, contact Eric anytime. He would be happy to help you register your child in the Sanibel Little League program or sign them up to play on Sanibel's NFL Youth Flag Football League.

Pfeifer Supports Sanibel's NFL Youth Flag Football Program

After moving to Sanibel in 2001 it didn't take Eric long to dive head first into volunteering his time and talents to many organizations on the island. As an avid football fan, Pfeifer took it upon himself to start Sanibel's First Flag Football program for Sanibel's youth.

To this day, Eric continues to coach and organize this valuable coed sport. If you are interested in finding out more about youth sports programs here on Sanibel & Captiva Islands, don't hesitate to contact us here at Pfeifer Realty Group. We would be happy to help you get your kids connected to sports here on the Islands.

Pfeifer also actively recruits young adults to assist on game days to act as umpires and referees during both baseball and football seasons. Community Service Hours can be earned and Pfeifer is happy to provide the necessary paperwork to account for donated time.

Pfeifer Sponsors "Cracker Fest" to benefit START

The Sanibel START chapter is hosting the Second Annual SanCap Cracker Fest on Friday, November 5, 2010 at 6:30 P.M. This event is a departure from traditional Sanibel functions. They are celebrating Sanibel’s rich and lively heritage with a wonderful Florida Cracker Dinner Fundraiser with Silent and Live Auctions. The evening will be elegantly casual, filled with down-home music by our local TROUBLESTARTERS.

The local Sanibel Captiva Chapter of START (Solutions to Avoid Red Tide, Inc.) is part of a statewide organization headquartered in Sarasota. You may visit the website @ start1.com. START’s vision is to improve the quality of our marine waters through research, public education, and programs that restore marine habitats, preserve marine species, and promote healthy beaches and coastal waterways. This vision has never been more important.
When the START chapter determined to have a fundraiser last year, they resolved to keep the majority of the proceeds in Lee County and have succeeded in that mission. Chapter president Dr. Bruce Neill (Executive Director, Sanibel Sea School) spearheaded collaborative efforts between START and Sanibel Sea School to create a tool to educate Lee County teachers and students about locally relevant coastal and marine issues. Called The Coastal Classroom, the computer module is a prototype designed specifically for 7th graders. This project could not have been produced without the generous help of our 2009 sponsors, donors, and event participants. A presentation of the Coastal Classroom will be made at this year’s Cracker Fest. The objective for the coming year is to develop other outreach programs to be underwritten with the proceeds from SanCap Cracker Fest 2010.

We hope that you will show your support of START in 2010 by attending this one-of-a-kind event. Tickets are available by presale only and limited to the first 300 RSVP guests. They anticipate a sold-out crowd again this year, so make your reservations now! You may send your check for $75 per person to SanCap START, P. O. Box 1511, Sanibel, Florida 33957.

JUNE 11, 2009 - Dairy Queen Sanibel is the first Island ice cream store and Pfeifer Realty Group is the first Island real estate firm to join the list of sponsors supporting the New Year’s Eve Party at the City’s Recreation Center.

Dairy Queen Sanibel is the first Island ice cream store and Pfeifer Realty Group is the first Island real estate firm to join the list of sponsors supporting the New Year’s Eve Party at the City’s Recreation Center. All event proceeds will support scholarships, awarded upon financial need, for children who enroll in the after-school and summer childcare programs at the Recreation Center.

Dairy Queen Sanibel, 1048 Periwinkle Way, has been owned and operated by the Meyers family for nearly 4 decades. This family run business is a destination for delicious ice cream in countless combinations and American fare. The Meyers family sets the bar very high in its participation and continued support of numerous charities with its financial and in kind contributions. Kevin Meyers has a special affinity for the Sanibel Recreation Center where he is a significant participant in assisting the children with great treats on many occasions. Additionally, his long time manager Isabelle Gavin, a member of the pioneer Gavin family, has been a kind and helpful member in promoting our Island.

Eric Pfeifer, Broker-Owner of Pfeifer Realty Group, 1630 Periwinkle Way, has jumped on board as the first local real estate office to sponsor the New Year’s Eve party at the Sanibel Recreation Center. Eric is a consistent and reliable supporter of many local organizations. Most recently, Eric took over for Dick Muench as the commissioner of Sanibel Little League. You can call Eric, “Jr. Commish”.

Pfeifer Realty Group opened its doors in 2008 after Eric had six successful years at VIP Realty including being named the Top Sales Associate for all of Southwest Florida in 2005. Eric now has 11 sales associates and sells real estate throughout Southwest Florida. Notwithstanding the worst year in recent real estate history, Pfeifer and his agents have had a lot of success in the past 13 months. Pfeifer attributes his company’s success to his hard working agents, a great international internet presence, and an optimistic outlook on life. Eric, his wife Mary Ellen and children Darby and John have lived on Sanibel since 2001.

The Dairy Queen Sanibel and Pfeifer Realty Group join Biddles Bucket and Biddle's Restaurant & Piano Bar with our primary event sponsor Sanibel Captiva Kiwanis Foundation supporting the City Recreation Center New Year's Eve party.

Additionally, there will be much publicity about all our sponsors. We welcome your support.
